Veena Malik Rules Out Politics, Focuses on Career

Television host Veena Malik has addressed recent rumours about her potential entry into politics, firmly stating that she has no intention of pursuing a political career. In a clear and decisive statement, Malik emphasized her contentment with her current professional path.

Clarifying Her Stance

“People ask me if I am getting into politics, so I want to say that I am very much happy in my own space,” Malik said. She added, “For the time being, I am not interested in political affairs, nor do I think I will want to be in the future.” This clarification comes amid speculation triggered by her recent political comments on social media.

Freedom of Opinion

Discussing her political remarks, Malik explained, “I feel that every person who pays taxes or votes can have their own opinion.” She stressed that expressing opinions should not alter how people perceive her professionally. “My fans like me because of my work, but still everyone should be strong in their own opinion. But now is not the time to sway both ways or hesitate when being clear on which party people believe is best suited to rule,” she stated.

Past Statements and Current Focus

Malik’s current stance contrasts with a 2012 statement where she expressed interest in entering politics. Speaking to The Express Tribune at the time, she had said, “Whenever there is something wrong going on in society, my blood boils and sometimes I wish to be a part of this system so I can change things.” However, she now clarifies that her views have evolved. On the professional front, Malik’s recent on-screen appearances include the television series Mr Jamshed DP and the Indian film Zindagi 50-50.
