Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has stated that the strong and deep-rooted relationship between Pakistan and China has successfully withstood every challenge, and that the friendship between the two countries continues to grow stronger with time.
Ceremony Marks Milestones in Bilateral Ties
Addressing a ceremony marking the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), 75 years of Pakistan-China friendship, and global governance initiatives, the minister said that Pakistan’s leadership firmly believes in maintaining strong relations with China. He noted that the Prime Minister’s visit to China elevated bilateral cooperation and friendship to new heights, while President Xi Jinping’s visit to Pakistan helped define a new direction for bilateral relations.
Expanding Cooperation Across Sectors
Tarar added that cooperation in people-to-people exchanges, media, and cultural sectors between the two countries continues to expand. He emphasized that Pakistan and China not only share a common border but also enjoy deep and long-standing ties between their peoples.
CPEC as a Symbol of Development
Referring to CPEC, the minister said that it is a flagship project of President Xi Jinping’s Belt and Road Initiative and has become a symbol of development and prosperity. He further stated that during his time as a young officer in the Punjab government, he had the opportunity to visit China on several occasions.
Role of Delegation Exchanges
According to Tarar, the exchange of delegations between the two countries can play a significant role in strengthening bilateral relations. He also affirmed that Pakistan will play an active role in promoting the Global Development Initiative.
Celebrating 75 Years of Friendship
The minister said that Pakistan and China are celebrating 75 years of friendship, which is a source of great joy for both nations, and the entire Pakistani nation shares in this celebration.
