Senate, NA Sessions Summoned; Budget Likely June 12

Islamabad: Sessions of the Senate and National Assembly have been summoned for tomorrow, while the federal budget is expected to be presented on June 12. President Asif Ali Zardari, on the advice of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, has summoned sessions of both houses of Parliament for tomorrow. The National Assembly session has been called at 5:00 PM tomorrow, while the Senate session will be held at 4:00 PM.

In this regard, Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry stated in a post on the social media platform X that the budget is likely to be presented on June 12. According to sources, it has been decided that all budget approval processes will be completed within one week, and the budget debate will be kept brief. The meeting of the National Economic Council has once again been postponed and will now be held tomorrow instead of today.

The government aims to expedite the budget approval process, ensuring minimal delays. The brief debate indicates a strategic move to pass the budget swiftly amid economic challenges. The postponement of the National Economic Council meeting suggests further consultations are needed before key economic decisions.
