The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Punjab has intensified its crackdown on cybercrimes targeting women, arresting four suspects from Lahore and Faisalabad. The operations, conducted under the special directives of NCCIA Punjab Director Muhammad Ali Waseem, focused on online harassment, blackmail, defamation, and dissemination of obscene content.
Operations in Lahore
NCCIA Lahore carried out operations in two separate cases, leading to the arrest of two suspects. In the first case, registered under FIR No. 114/2026, suspect Nadeem Ahmed was arrested for allegedly sharing defamatory, obscene, and offensive content through social media and other digital platforms. In the second case, registered under FIR No. 118/2026, Muhammad Ahsan Khan, a resident of Kasur, was taken into custody for allegedly broadcasting and sharing objectionable content against women through TikTok and TikTok Live. Mobile phones, social media accounts, and other digital evidence were seized during both operations.
Operations in Faisalabad
Meanwhile, NCCIA Faisalabad arrested two suspects in separate cases. In the first case, registered under FIR No. 69/2026, Zulfiqar was arrested for allegedly sharing a woman’s private and objectionable photos and videos via WhatsApp. Forensic evidence also revealed instances of online harassment and threats. In the second case, registered under FIR No. 72/2026, Muhammad Rehan was arrested on allegations of deceiving a woman to gain her trust, obtaining her private information, and subsequently blackmailing her. Investigators allege that he extorted Rs. 1.5 million from the victim and used a fake Facebook account to circulate objectionable material among her relatives. Mobile phones and digital evidence were recovered, and further investigations are underway.
Director's Statement
Director NCCIA Punjab Muhammad Ali Waseem stated that crimes such as harassment, blackmail, and character assassination of women would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He emphasized that strict action would continue against individuals misusing social media and digital platforms, and all offenders would be brought to justice under the law.
