FAISALABAD: A man allegedly slit the throats of his two young children following a domestic dispute with his wife in Faisalabad's Mamun Kanjan area, police said. The suspect was arrested hours after the incident.
Details of the Incident
According to police, the incident occurred in Chak 557-GB within the jurisdiction of Mamun Kanjan police station. Investigators said Muhammad Asif, son of Muhammad Iqbal, allegedly killed his eight-year-old daughter, Dua Fatima, and six-year-old son, Muhammad Ahmad, after an argument with his wife, who had left for her parents' home following the dispute.
Police said the suspect allegedly attacked both children with a knife before fleeing the scene. The double murder sent shockwaves through the area, drawing a large number of residents to the house.
Police Response and Investigation
Upon receiving information, SP Saddar Division Mehr Saeed Sial, the station house officer, and other police officials reached the scene, took the bodies into custody, and shifted them to a hospital for post-mortem examination.
According to police, the suspect is a drug addict and allegedly committed the crime in a fit of rage. City Police Officer (CPO) Tanveer Hussain took notice of the incident and constituted special teams under the supervision of SP Saddar Division to trace and arrest the accused.

The suspect was arrested hours after the incident. Police continue to investigate the motive behind the brutal killings, which have left the community in mourning. Authorities have emphasized the need to address domestic violence and substance abuse issues that may lead to such tragedies.
