KP PHED Launches Mobile App for Water Services

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Public Health Engineering, Fazal Shakoor Khan, officially inaugurated the department’s new mobile application on Tuesday, marking a significant step towards modernizing public service delivery through information technology.

App Features and Services

The application enables consumers to view water bills and outstanding dues online, access drinking water supply information, register complaints, track complaint status, obtain updates on development projects, and find contact information for relevant offices. The app is available in both Urdu and English to facilitate wider access.

According to a briefing given to the minister, the app will also allow effective monitoring of complaint resolution, thereby enhancing departmental performance, transparency, accountability, and responsiveness.

Government’s Digital Vision

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Fazal Shakoor Khan said that the KP government is actively utilizing information technology to modernize public service delivery and improve governance. He emphasized that the launch of the PHED mobile app marks an important milestone in promoting digital governance and strengthening communication between the department and the public.

“The KP government’s vision is to provide quality public services at the doorstep of the people,” Khan stated, adding that effective use of modern technology will improve service delivery, ensure better monitoring of development projects, and promote transparency in the use of public resources.

Future Enhancements and Appreciation

The minister directed relevant authorities to continuously upgrade the application by incorporating additional user-friendly features and to ensure prompt and effective resolution of public complaints to further strengthen public confidence in the department.

He also appreciated the efforts of the departmental team, IT professionals, and officials involved in developing the mobile application, expressing confidence that this initiative will significantly enhance the performance of the Public Health Engineering Department and contribute to better and more efficient public services across the province.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Secretary Public Health Engineering Masood Younas, the Additional Secretary, Chief Engineers, Director Technical, and other senior departmental officials.
