Saudi-Backed Teacher Training Project Launches in Yemen's Five Governorates
Saudi-Backed Teacher Training Launches in Yemen

The Digital Empowerment of Yemeni Teachers project has officially commenced activities aimed at enhancing the professional and technical capabilities of 500 educators across the Yemeni governorates of Aden, Abyan, Hadramout, Al-Mahra, and Socotra. The initiative is backed by the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) in partnership with King Abdulaziz University.

Blended Training Approach

The program employs a hybrid model that combines in-person sessions with online training, enabling teachers to integrate modern technologies into their classrooms effectively. Training is delivered through two distinct tracks: one concentrating on artificial intelligence and AI-powered content creation, and the other on digital instructional design, which equips participants to develop interactive educational materials using contemporary teaching methods.

Support for Yemen's Education Sector

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), this project is part of the broader SDRPY efforts to support Yemen’s education sector, modernize teaching practices, and strengthen human capital. Since its inception, the SDRPY has implemented 287 projects and initiatives across eight sectors, including education, healthcare, energy, water, transportation, agriculture, fisheries, and government capacity building.
