Suicide Jacket with 7kg Explosives Found in Afghan Camp

Police on Wednesday claimed to have recovered a suicide jacket containing seven kilograms of explosives from a former Afghan refugees’ camp in Akora Khattak. DSP Adnan Azam stated that a suspicious bag was spotted at the former Afghan refugee camp, Shanna Wanah, in Akora Khattak. Police took the bag into custody and, upon inspection, discovered a suicide jacket inside the sack.

Bomb Disposal Unit Secures Device

According to DSP Adnan Azam, a bomb disposal unit was immediately called to examine the device, which was found to be packed with explosives. The police officer added that the bomb disposal unit safely secured the suicide jacket without any untoward incident. The device contained seven kilograms of explosives, highlighting the potential for a major attack had it not been discovered.

Investigation Launched

Police have launched an investigation to trace those responsible and determine how the explosive device ended up at the location. Authorities are examining forensic evidence and interviewing locals to gather leads. The camp, Shanna Wanah, previously housed Afghan refugees and is now being monitored for any suspicious activity.
