Pakistan's Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Sunday offloaded a passenger at Karachi's Jinnah International Airport, thwarting an attempt to travel to Saudi Arabia using forged documents. The incident highlights heightened security checks at Pakistani airports aimed at curbing illegal travel.
Details of the Incident
The FIA reported that the passenger was traveling on a work visa obtained through a fake driving license and a protector clearance arranged by multiple agents. During verification, the driving license raised suspicion as the QR code displayed details of another person. The passenger had never applied for a driving license but obtained it through an agent in Rawalpindi for money.
Investigation and Legal Action
The suspect revealed that his Saudi work visa was secured via another agent, while the protector clearance was arranged by an overseas employment promoter. The FIA handed the case to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Karachi for further investigation and legal proceedings.
Pakistan has intensified airport security checks, leading to the offloading of passengers with forged work permits, counterfeit visas, and fake driving licenses. Authorities emphasize that such documents are often used to facilitate illegal travel or unauthorized employment abroad.
