In a significant push to enhance customer convenience, K-Electric has been actively taking its services directly to the doorsteps of Karachi's residents. The power utility recently organized a series of eight facilitation camps and open courts, known as 'Khuli Kacheries,' across various parts of the city, providing immediate support for a range of electrical service needs.
Widespread Outreach Across Key Locations
The camps were strategically set up in North Karachi, New Karachi, Gulistan-e-Johar 1 and 2, Clifton, Malir, SITE Industrial Management Zone (SIMZ), and Uthal. This initiative was designed to offer on-the-spot solutions, making it easier for customers to manage their electricity accounts without traveling long distances.
These camps provided essential services including bill payments, resolving meter-related queries, and handling other account services. The collective response was overwhelming, with the events recording a total footfall of over 2,500 customers in a single round. This high turnout underscores the community's need for accessible and localized utility services.
A Sustained Commitment to Customer Convenience
This recent effort is part of a much larger, ongoing campaign. Since July 2025, KE has held approximately 50 such facilitation camps, directly interacting with and assisting more than 12,500 customers. This sustained initiative is particularly vital for communities with limited access to banking facilities, allowing residents to clear outstanding dues and apply for new electricity connections on easy terms.
Sadia Dada, Chief Distribution and MarComms Officer at KE, emphasized the company's mission. "KE is committed to building a more connected, inclusive, and customer-first energy ecosystem for Karachi," she stated. "By taking essential services to our customers’ doorsteps, we are reinforcing our role as a proactive partner in the city’s progress."
Fostering a Partnership for a Resilient Energy Future
Beyond mere transactional support, these camps act as a crucial platform for awareness. KE staff provide clear guidance and workable payment plans to customers willing to settle their outstanding dues. The company has also announced a clear intent to continue this outreach, with plans to organize more such camps across various city areas to ensure maximum customer engagement.
Dada also highlighted the reciprocal nature of the customer-utility relationship. "We also urge consumers to reciprocate our spirit by timely bill payments to allow KE to continue providing uninterrupted power supply and strengthen Karachi’s journey toward a more resilient energy future," she added. This call to action underscores the shared responsibility in maintaining a stable power supply for the city's development.
