The Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) has temporarily suspended water supply to four union councils in Lyari Town following a leak in a 24-inch diameter water transmission line. The affected areas include Union Councils 9, 10, 11, and 12.
Immediate Response to Pipeline Fault
According to a KWSC spokesperson, engineering and technical teams were dispatched immediately after the fault was reported. The damaged section of the pipeline was identified, and repair work began on an emergency basis. The utility stated that the repairs are expected to be completed within 36 to 48 hours.
Phased Restoration Plan
KWSC confirmed that water supply to the affected union councils will be restored in phases once repairs are finished. Meanwhile, water supply to the rest of Lyari Town continues as normal, the spokesperson added.
