In a powerful Friday sermon delivered at Jamia Masjid Mubarak Ahl-e-Hadith in Vehari, prominent international religious scholar Dr. Idris Zubair addressed the critical issue of inheritance, calling for strict adherence to Islamic principles.
Islam's Comprehensive and Just System
Dr. Zubair articulated that Islam provides a complete, clear, and equitable system for wealth distribution, which he described as superior to any other system globally. He explained that this divine framework meticulously outlines how to manage assets during a person's lifetime and how to divide property among legal heirs after death.
A Grave Mistake and Open Disobedience
The scholar expressed deep concern over prevalent practices where personal desires, family traditions, or societal pressures are prioritized over clear Islamic law. He labeled this a grave mistake and an act of open disobedience to divine commandments. Dr. Zubair specifically highlighted the un-Islamic and widespread practice of depriving daughters and women of their rightful shares in family property.
"Such actions not only violate the orders of Allah Almighty and His Messenger (PBUH) but also project a negative and misleading image of Islam to foreign nations and non-Muslim communities," he stated with seriousness.
Ensuring Dignity and Financial Independence
Dr. Zubair emphasized that Islam has guaranteed women their prescribed shares in inheritance to ensure their dignity, protection, and financial independence. Therefore, denying any legal heir their God-given right under Shariah constitutes a profound act of injustice and is considered a major sin.
He issued a compelling call to action, stating that if Muslims genuinely wish to present the message of Islam and its unparalleled system of justice to the world, they must start by implementing these teachings within their own households.
Following the sermon, Dr. Idris Zubair engaged with the congregation, answering their questions. He urged all attendees to give decisive importance to the guidance of the Qur'an and Sunnah in all matters of inheritance and social affairs. He concluded that this is the essential path to eliminating injustice, deprivation, and familial disputes, paving the way for establishing an ideal Islamic society.
