The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has officially released the schedule for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026, the standardized entry examination for MBBS and BDS programs across Pakistan.
Exam Date and Time
According to the PMDC, MDCAT 2026 will be conducted simultaneously nationwide on August 16, 2026, at 10:00 am. The examination will be organized through designated public-sector universities in different regions.
Regional Responsibilities
The University of Health Sciences has been assigned responsibility for conducting the test in Punjab, while Sukkur IBA University will oversee arrangements in Sindh. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the examination will be administered by Khyber Medical University. For Balochistan, the test will be conducted by Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences. Candidates from Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan will take the examination under the supervision of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University. Additionally, PMDC has designated Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University to facilitate candidates appearing from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Registration Details
Online registration for MDCAT 2026 will commence on June 22. Candidates can submit applications with the regular fee until July 8, while late registration will remain open until July 13. The registration fee for examination centres within Pakistan is set at Rs9,000, while late applicants will be required to pay Rs13,000. For international test centres, the fee has been fixed at Rs45,000, increasing to Rs55,000 for late registration. PMDC stated that all registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
