From Ohio State University, USA, Prof. Dr. Rattan Lal — a world-renowned soil scientist — elaborated on the multifaceted role of soil. He detailed its crucial function in carbon storage, water cycle regulation, and supporting biodiversity.

Locally, Dr. Hafiz Tanvir Ahmad from the Department of Soil Science presented his research on soil health indicators. He explained their paramount importance for developing cities that are resilient to climate change impacts.
