National Bilingual Declamation Contest Celebrates Young Orators
The 7th All Pakistan Bilingual Declamation Contest successfully concluded at Cadet College Sanghar, bringing together some of the most talented young speakers from prestigious educational institutions across the nation. This significant event was designed to spotlight national-level talent while inspiring local students to develop and demonstrate their public speaking abilities.
Wide Participation Across Multiple Categories
The competition was strategically organized into three main categories: School, College, and University levels. To ensure strong regional representation, a dedicated session was arranged for the School Category, which saw enthusiastic participation from nine schools across Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Shahdadpur, and Shaheed Benazirabad.
In the College and University Categories, an impressive 66 speakers from 33 leading educational institutions delivered powerful speeches covering both serious and humorous topics. Their compelling presentations earned widespread appreciation from audience members and judges alike.
Winners Across All Competition Levels
The contest produced outstanding results across all categories and languages:
School Category (English): Bahria Foundation College Sanghar secured first position, followed by Hayat School (HM Campus Hyderabad) in second place, and Memon School & College Shahdadpur taking third position.
School Category (Urdu): Memon School & College Shahdadpur claimed the top spot, with Cadet College Ormara finishing second, and Cadet College Larkana earning third position.
College Category (English): Cadet College Ormara emerged victorious, Cadet College Petaro secured second place, while Cadet College Larkana captured third position.
College Category (Urdu): Hayat School & College (Main Campus Hyderabad) took first place, Govt. Degree College Malir Cantt Karachi achieved second position, and Bakhtawar Cadet College for Girls earned third place.
University Category (English): Bahria University won first position, Government College University secured second place, and Bahria University of Health Sciences claimed third position.
University Category (Urdu): University of Karachi took the top honor, Pakistan Navy Engineering College (PNEC) finished second, and Pakistan Marine Academy secured third position.
Distinguished Guests and Judges
The event was graced by Sindh Minister for Local Government and Housing & Town Planning, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, who attended as chief guest. Senator Quratulain Marri also participated as a special guest, adding prestige to the ceremony.
During his address to the audience, Minister Shah emphasized that Pakistan is a great blessing from Allah and encouraged young speakers to focus on portraying the country's positive image through their speeches. He extended congratulations to all winners and commended Cadet College Sanghar for their efforts in promoting the art of public speaking among youth.
A panel of distinguished professors and literary figures from reputable universities served as judges for the competition, ensuring fair evaluation and professional standards throughout the event.
Comprehensive Event Experience
Prior to the main ceremony, Commandant/Principal Cadet College Sanghar, Commodore Zeeshan Ali (Sitara-e-Imtiaz Military), welcomed the distinguished guests and highlighted the crucial importance of oratory skills in students' academic and personality development.
The event offered more than just speech competitions, featuring vibrant cultural tableaus that showcased local traditions. Guests were treated to tours of campus facilities including the Riding Club, Shooting Range, Faiz Mahal Art Gallery, Swimming Pool, and college orchards.
Participants particularly enjoyed traditional horse-carriage rides and fresh tea served at the college dairy farm, experiences that received special praise from attendees and contributed to the event's memorable atmosphere.
