PPSC Relocates PMS Exam Centers from Rawalpindi to Lahore Over Security Concerns
The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has made a significant decision to transfer the examination centers for compulsory papers of 1,216 candidates of the Provincial Management Service (PMS) 2025 from Rawalpindi to Lahore. This move comes in response to the prevailing security situation in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, aiming to ensure a safe and conducive environment for all aspirants.
Committee Meeting and Approval Process
The decision was finalized during a committee meeting chaired by PPSC Member Mirza Sohail Aamir. Following thorough discussions, it received approval from PPSC Chairman Lieutenant General (Retd) Muhammad Abdul Aziz. Subsequently, PPSC Secretary Afzaal Ahmad issued a formal notification to implement this change, underscoring the commission's commitment to candidate safety.
Details of the Relocation
According to Deputy Director PPSC Syed Kazim Muqaddas Kazmi, the affected candidates include 754 male and 462 female aspirants. Originally, they were scheduled to appear for examinations from April 24 to April 26, 2026, at Government Gordon Graduate College Liaqat Road and Government Associate College for Women Jhanda Chechi in Rawalpindi. The examinations will now be conducted at Divisional Public School (DPS) Model Town in Lahore, a venue selected to provide enhanced security and optimal testing conditions.
Instructions for Candidates
The PPSC spokesperson has advised all candidates to download their revised admission letters from the official PPSC website after 2:00 PM on April 21, 2026. It is crucial for aspirants to appear at the updated examination center according to the revised schedule to avoid any disruptions. This proactive measure ensures that candidates are well-informed and prepared for the changes.
Background on PMS 2025 Examination
The PMS/Combined Competitive Examination 2025 is recognized as the largest competitive examination in Punjab. Phase-I results have already been announced, with over 8,000 candidates qualifying against 119 posts. Out of more than 36,000 candidates who appeared in the Phase-I examination held on January 25, 2026, a total of 8,898 candidates have advanced to Phase-II.
Phase-II Examination Structure
Phase-II will consist of eleven subjective papers, including five compulsory and six optional subjects. Following the written examination, candidates will undergo psychological assessments and interviews. The final merit list will be issued after these stages, determining the selection for prestigious positions within the provincial management service.
