Indian actor Aamir Khan has confirmed to Indian magazine Variety that he and his partner, Gauri Spratt, will get married on July 5 this year. Speaking to the publication, he said, “I’m currently travelling in the US. The news about the marriage is true. It’s on July 5.”
A few months earlier, in a podcast appearance, the actor had said that marriage was not an immediate priority for the couple, as they were happy living together and enjoying domestic life. When asked about the change in his earlier stance, Khan explained that their relationship had naturally progressed. “Yes, that is true. But now we both feel we are ready to take our relationship to the next level,” he said.
Khan described this as a happy and peaceful phase in his life. “I am at peace. Gauri and I are serious about each other, and we are in a very committed space. We are partners; we are together,” he said, adding that he now feels ready to formalise their relationship through marriage.
“Although my relationships with my ex-wives, Kiran Rao and Reena Dutta, were also very deep, things didn’t work out. When I think about it, I feel very blessed that Gauri has entered my life. We are very happy together. I feel complete today,” he had said earlier.
Gauri Spratt, who has roots in Bengaluru and works in the wellness and beauty sector, was introduced to the media by Khan during his 60th birthday celebrations in March last year. The actor revealed that the two had known each other for years before reconnecting and gradually developing a closer relationship. Their bond developed away from the public eye, and they have since been seen together at a limited number of events, including the premiere of Khan’s latest directorial, One Day.
Khan was previously married to Reena, with whom he has two children, Junaid and Ira. He later married filmmaker Kiran, with whom he shares a son, Azad.
