Dua Lipa and Callum Turner have begun a three-day wedding celebration in Sicily, following their recent marriage ceremony in London. The couple, who reportedly tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at Old Marylebone Town Hall on May 31, are now hosting a series of events in and around Palermo from June 5 to 7. Reports estimate the total cost of the celebrations at approximately $1.7 million.
Arrival and Accommodation
Dua and Callum arrived in Sicily ahead of their guests and are staying at the Villa Igiea Hotel on the outskirts of Palermo. The five-star property is also hosting many of the couple's invited guests, with reports suggesting they are staying in the Donna Franca Suite, one of the hotel's most exclusive accommodations.
Pre-Wedding Gathering
The celebrations began with a pre-wedding gathering in central Palermo, where the couple were photographed greeting guests and sharing a kiss. Dua wore a white Bottega Veneta dress paired with Bulgari jewellery for the occasion. Around 200 guests are expected to attend the festivities.
Among those reported to have travelled to Sicily are Charli XCX and her husband George Daniel, Troye Sivan, Joe Alwyn, Mark Ronson and Grace Gummer, Kevin Parker and Sophie Lawrence. Donatella Versace and Elton John are also reportedly expected to attend.
Cocktail Reception and Main Celebration
The couple also hosted a cocktail reception at Galleria d'Arte Moderna Sant'Anna, with reports stating the venue was closed to the public for the private event. The main celebration is expected to take place at Villa Valguarnera in Bagheria. The historic 18th-century Baroque estate has been selected as the setting for a second exchange of vows and the wedding reception.
Local Reaction
Local tourism officials welcomed the event, highlighting the international attention generated by the celebrations. Antonio Rini of Palermo Council's tourism department described the wedding as "a great honor" for the city and said the arrival of internationally recognised artists would provide valuable exposure for Palermo.
