Jelly Roll Files for Divorce from Wife Bunnie XO
Country music star Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, has filed for divorce from his wife, Bunnie XO, born Alisa DeFord, bringing an end to their nearly decade-long marriage. The filing occurred on May 18, and news became public on June 15 after being first reported by TMZ.
The couple married in 2016 and frequently spoke publicly about the challenges and milestones they experienced throughout their relationship. Their marriage remained in the spotlight in recent years as they discussed family planning, personal growth, and past difficulties.
In an October 2025 episode of the Human School podcast, Jelly Roll reflected on infidelity during the marriage, saying, "One of the worst moments of my adulthood was when I had an affair on my wife." He added that the pair had done "a lot of work to repair" their relationship and said they became "stronger than we could have ever been."
Jelly Roll stated: "I wish our story would've went in the way that it never had an affair, and I'm in a way glad it happened, but man, I'm proud of who we are today. I truly am."
Bunnie XO also revealed in 2024 that the couple briefly separated in 2018 before reconciling. She wrote: "We finally committed to each other and did everything we promised each other the first night in 2016. Our castle in the sand had to crumble so we could rebuild on solid ground."
Earlier this year, Bunnie XO wrote in her book that the couple had planned to expand their family through IVF and had hoped to welcome twins via a surrogate. The divorce filing now marks a significant change for one of country music's most visible couples.
