Ali Zafar Performs for 45,000 in Canada Tour Finale

KARACHI: Singer and actor Ali Zafar performed to an estimated 45,000 people at Celebration Square in Mississauga, Canada, on Saturday night, marking the final show of his 'Roshni Tour 2026' in North America, according to a message received here on Sunday.

Record-Breaking Audience

Organisers said the free outdoor concert was the largest audience ever recorded at the venue, with crowds also spilling into nearby roads and public spaces as thousands gathered to watch the performance. The event attracted a large and diverse audience from across the South Asian diaspora in the Greater Toronto Area, including families, students and professionals from Pakistan, India and Bangladesh, they said.

Performance Highlights

Ali Zafar performed for nearly two hours, opening with 'Rangeen' before moving through some of his most popular songs, including 'Channo', 'Masti' and 'Chal Dil Mere'. He also performed several Bollywood tracks and fan favourites during the set. One of the highlights of the night came during 'Jhoom', when audience members lifted their phone lights, turning the square into a sea of illumination. At one point, Zafar stepped off the stage and moved into the crowd, prompting loud cheers from fans.

Message of Unity

Speaking to the audience between songs, Zafar focused on themes of unity and identity. "We are one humanity," he said. "Wherever we live in the world, we carry our roots with us, and we should be proud of them." He added: "Respect for each other's choices is what holds us together. The freedom of our women to live the lives they choose. The right of our children to follow their dreams."
