Perla Harb, crowned Miss Lebanon 2025, is set to showcase Lebanese culture on an international platform by contributing a children's book authored by actress and writer Razane Jammal to the Miss World Children's Library initiative.
Selection of 'Lulu and Blu'
Harb has chosen the British-Lebanese actress's story titled Lulu and Blu for inclusion in this global library project. The initiative invites contestants from across the world to donate a book that reflects their country's culture, heritage, and values, thereby building a collection aimed at promoting literacy and cross-cultural understanding among young readers.
The library is part of the pageant's Beauty With a Purpose program, which focuses on charitable and educational initiatives. Over the years, it has introduced children to stories and traditions from around the world.
A Contemporary Lebanese Voice
For Harb, the choice of Lulu and Blu puts a contemporary Lebanese voice in the spotlight. Razane Jammal is best known for her acting career, having appeared in international productions including Paranormal, The Sandman, and A Walk Among the Tombstones.
Published by Turning Point Books last year, the story was illustrated by Sasha Haddad, a Lebanese illustrator who graduated from Cambridge School of Arts in 2014. It follows the adventures of two young friends — a vegetarian lioness and a friendly fish — as they navigate themes of friendship, curiosity, and self-discovery. The book draws on Jammal's multicultural background and aims to encourage children to embrace diversity, kindness, and imagination.
Book Launch and Recent Projects
In June 2025, Jammal took to social media to mark the launch of the book, saying: "What started as a little story I wrote seven years ago turned into a book for your little ones. I've poured my heart into this and I'm thrilled to invite you all to our first launch in Beirut."
Jammal made headlines in May this year as she took on her first lead role in an Arab production with the 2026 film Asad. Helmed by Egyptian filmmaker and Marvel's Moon Knight director Mohamed Diab, Jammal stars alongside Egyptian actor Mohamed Ramadan in the period drama.
