Hyderabad DC Meets Social Media Influencers for Awareness

HYDERABAD - In line with ongoing guidelines on media outreach and positive narrative activities under the National Prevention of Violent Extremism/Countering Violent Extremism (NPVE/CPVE) framework by the Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad, an awareness and consultation meeting with social media influencers was held at the Divisional Directorate of Information, Hyderabad.

According to a handout issued on Monday, Information Officer Sobia Saleem addressed the social media influencers, emphasizing their crucial role in shaping public opinion. She noted that influencers are opinion leaders in the current digital era, influencing youth attitudes, mobilizing communities, and driving positive social change.

Sobia Saleem urged influencers to avoid promoting sensational content unnecessarily, share verified information, and foster dialogue based on mutual respect, tolerance, empathy, and inclusion. She also shared practical examples of content preparation and fostering positive conversations on online platforms.

During the meeting, social media influencers presented their suggestions and expressed commitment to playing a positive role in establishing a safe, responsible, and informed digital environment. They pledged full support for promoting accurate and verified information.
