Commissioner Reviews Anti-Dengue Measures in Lahore Division

Commissioner Lahore Division Marryam Khan on Wednesday chaired a divisional review meeting to assess anti-dengue measures and surveillance activities in Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, and Nankana Sahib districts. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Lahore Ali Ijaz, Deputy Commissioner Nankana Sahib Rao Tasleem Akhtar, Deputy Commissioner Sheikhupura Shahid Imran Marth, Deputy Commissioner Kasur Asif Raza, Additional Commissioner Coordination Wajeeha Samreen, Chief Executive Officer Health Lahore, and other officials.

District Briefings on Dengue Surveillance

During the meeting, deputy commissioners briefed the commissioner on ongoing dengue surveillance operations and preventive measures in their respective districts. The participants were informed that anti-dengue surveillance was continuing actively across the division, with field teams carrying out inspections and larva eradication activities.

Dengue Cases and Statistics

The meeting was told that six confirmed dengue cases and 3,036 suspected cases had been reported in Lahore so far this year. It was further informed that no dengue-related death had been recorded in Lahore Division during the current year. The commissioner was also informed that 18,030 dengue larvae had been destroyed during surveillance operations in Lahore, while 18,011 warning notices had been issued and 19 cases registered against violations of dengue prevention regulations.

Commissioner's Directives

On the occasion, Marryam Khan directed all district administrations to maintain strict vigilance and ensure effective implementation of anti-dengue measures. She said public health remained a priority of the Punjab government and emphasized that no negligence would be tolerated in surveillance and preventive activities. She added that, in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, all available resources were being utilized to safeguard citizens from dengue and other seasonal diseases.
