On the night of June 5, at approximately 9:00 PM, an unidentified terrorist on a motorcycle opened fire on a vehicle of security volunteers stationed outside the Bait-ul-Aqsa Ahmadiyya Place of Worship in Rabwah (Chenab Nagar). Three Ahmadi youths were critically injured, with two in critical condition. The attacker managed to escape.
Details of the Attack
The volunteers' vehicle was performing routine security duties at the intersection outside Bait-ul-Aqsa when the terrorist, his head and face covered in cloth, opened fire. The injured were identified as Waqas Ahmed (23), Bilal Ahmed (30), and Abdul Jabbar (39). They were rushed to the hospital, where emergency surgery was performed. A large number of citizens arrived to donate blood.
According to eyewitnesses, the terrorist escaped towards College Road in Rabwah.
Community Response
Amir Mahmood, spokesperson of the Ahmadiyya Community Pakistan, strongly condemned the attack. He noted that this is the second terrorist attack in Rabwah within months, leaving Ahmadis feeling insecure. On October 10, 2025, six Ahmadis were injured in a firing outside Bait-ul-Mahdi. A few days ago, security agencies had issued a threat alert for Eid-ul-Adha regarding potential terrorist activity in Rabwah.
Hate Campaigns and Insecurity
The spokesperson highlighted a continuous campaign of hate speech and malicious propaganda against peaceful Ahmadis across Pakistan. This incites the public to target Ahmadis, with calls for economic and social boycotts, baseless allegations, and fatwas encouraging violence. Ahmadis do not feel safe anywhere in Pakistan, including Rabwah.
It was noted that the perpetrator of a 2024 Sargodha attack that killed three Ahmadis and wounded another remains at large.
Demands
The Ahmadiyya Community demands an immediate stop to hate-based campaigns, justice for the perpetrators, and effective measures to protect the lives and property of Ahmadis in Pakistan.
