Kazakhstan and Montenegro Presidents Strengthen Bilateral Ties

ASTANA – President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President of Montenegro Jakov Milatovic held talks in a restricted format in Astana. The Head of State expressed confidence that Milatovic's visit would give new impetus to bilateral relations. He noted that many Kazakh citizens travel to Montenegro and return with positive impressions.

Tokayev congratulated Montenegro on the 20th anniversary of its independence, highlighting the good relations established over the years. He pointed out the large business delegation accompanying Milatovic as a sign of Montenegro’s intention to strengthen economic ties.

In his turn, President Milatovic thanked Tokayev for the invitation and stressed the importance of this first official visit. He said the visit demonstrates that relations are reaching a higher level of cooperation. Milatovic arrived with representatives of Montenegrin business, noting that the chambers of commerce of both countries will hold a business forum and sign several memorandums.

He underlined Montenegro’s popularity among Kazakh tourists and expressed interest in expanding ties not only in politics but also in economic partnership. Earlier, an official welcoming ceremony was held at the Palace of Independence for President Milatovic, who arrived in Kazakhstan on an official visit.
