The Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission has officially concluded Saudi Arabia's participation in the 32nd Beijing International Book Fair, held at the China National Convention Center from June 17 to 21. The Kingdom’s pavilion attracted strong cultural and intellectual interest, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s growing presence on the global cultural stage and strengthening its profile at one of the world’s leading book and publishing events.
Commission CEO Highlights Success
Commission CEO Abdullatif Al-Wasel said the participation achieved its goals of promoting Saudi literature and culture and strengthening the presence of Saudi publishers in international markets. He added that it also advanced cultural and knowledge exchange between Saudi Arabia and China, reflecting the depth of bilateral relations and helping build sustainable partnerships in literature, publishing, and translation.
Al-Wasel said the fair provided an important platform for expanding professional partnerships and exchanging expertise in publishing, translation rights, and content creation, while fostering cultural exchange between the two countries. He added that the strong engagement at the Saudi pavilion highlighted the growing global standing of Saudi culture and its increasing role in building bridges of cultural understanding.
King Abdulaziz Public Library Showcases Collections
The King Abdulaziz Public Library also participated in the fair, attracting strong interest from visitors exploring its collection of Arabic and translated scientific, cultural, and intellectual publications. The exhibits highlighted the library’s role in supporting Arab and Islamic culture and enriching intellectual content through its publishing, documentation, and translation programs.
The pavilion also showcased a range of the library’s cultural projects, programs, and initiatives in Saudi Arabia and abroad. Visitors learned about the library’s more than three decades of promoting knowledge, supporting scientific research, and preserving cultural heritage. The library also presented its digital services and specialized projects related to manuscripts, historical documents, and specialized libraries, reflecting its commitment to preserving cultural heritage while embracing modern information technologies.
