Israeli Airstrike Kills Five in Gaza Amid Ceasefire Breaches

At least five Palestinians, including four members of the same family, were killed and several others injured in the Gaza Strip early Saturday as Israeli forces continued to breach an ongoing ceasefire, according to medical and eyewitness accounts.

Attack on Safadi Family Home

A medical source at Al-Shifa Hospital told Anadolu that two children and their parents were killed when an Israeli airstrike hit their home near the Al-Tayaran junction in Gaza City. Eyewitnesses reported that the strike targeted the Safadi family home at dawn, killing Hussein Safadi, his wife Rana Safadi, and their two daughters, Zina (6) and Lana (13). Several other family members and nearby residents were also injured in the attack.

In a separate incident, a Palestinian man was killed and a woman was moderately injured after an Israeli drone strike targeted pedestrians near the Al-Saftawi roundabout in northern Gaza City, witnesses confirmed.

Ceasefire Violations Mount

These attacks come amid continued Israeli breaches of the truce that took effect in October 2025. According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, as of Thursday, these violations have resulted in 1,007 Palestinian deaths and 3,165 injuries. The ceasefire agreement followed two years of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, which killed more than 73,000 Palestinians, injured over 173,000 others, and caused widespread destruction to approximately 90% of civilian infrastructure.
