Israeli Poll: 92% Say Iran Won Middle East War

Overwhelming Majority Sees Iran as Victorious

According to a poll released on June 21, 2026, by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in collaboration with the Agam Institute, 92.1% of Israeli respondents believe that Iran emerged stronger from the recent Middle East war and the subsequent US-Iran deal. The survey, which polled 3,644 individuals between June 17 and 20, indicates a widespread perception that Iran gained more from the conflict.

Security Concerns and Leadership Distrust

The poll found that 82.9% of Israelis feel that their country's long-term security has been weakened. Distrust in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's leadership is high, with 72.5% of respondents not believing his claims about the military campaign's achievements. Furthermore, 56.4% rated his management of the campaign as 'failed' or 'poor.'

Political Fallout for Netanyahu

Support for Netanyahu's premiership has dropped significantly, from 40.5% in early March to 29.4% in June. Even among his right-wing electoral base, 93.1% believe Iran won the war. Opposition to the US-Iran agreement stands at 63.2%, with only 12.1% in favor.

Continued Support for Action Against Hezbollah

Despite the negative sentiment regarding the war's outcome, nearly half of respondents (48.2%) support renewed major military action against Hezbollah in Lebanon, even if it risks confrontation with Washington. Only 21% oppose such action. The poll comes as negotiations to solidify the temporary US-Iran agreement are set to take place in Switzerland, despite ongoing tensions in Lebanon.
