Pakistan Rejects Afghan Taliban Claims of Cross-Border Strikes

The Ministry of Information in Islamabad on Friday strongly rejected claims circulating from Afghan Taliban-linked propaganda channels, which alleged cross-border drone strikes on supposed Islamic State–Khorasan Province (ISKP) camps inside Pakistan. The ministry dismissed these reports as "false as usual."

Fact-Check Statement

In a fact-check statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), the ministry said the allegations that Afghan Taliban forces had targeted supposed ISKP camps in the border areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan were "false." It further asserted that terrorist camps are factually located, run, and patronized from inside territories under the control of the Afghan Taliban regime.

Context of Allegations

The claims, propagated by certain Afghan Taliban-linked channels, suggested that Pakistani drone strikes had crossed into Afghan territory. However, the ministry clarified that no such strikes occurred, and the allegations were baseless. The statement underscores ongoing tensions between Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban regarding cross-border militancy.

Official Response

The ministry's strong denial aims to counter disinformation and reaffirm Pakistan's position that terrorist activities originate from Afghan soil. It called on the international community to take note of the factual location of terrorist camps under Afghan Taliban control.
