Punjab Minister for Minority Affairs Ramesh Singh Arora has stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Punjab government is implementing practical measures to safeguard the rights of minority communities, ensure equal access to public facilities, and promote interfaith harmony across the province. He emphasized that the protection, restoration, and development of all places of worship, including churches and temples, remain among the government's top priorities.
Visit to Temple and Church in Vehari
The provincial minister expressed these views during his visit to the temple located in C-Block and the Catholic Church at 9/11-WB, accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Vehari Anam Akram. During the visit, Ramesh Singh Arora inspected the present condition of the temple and received a detailed briefing from relevant officials regarding its land ownership, historical background, and construction. He underscored the importance of preserving religious heritage and ensuring proper maintenance of minority worship sites.
Golden Jubilee Celebrations and Commitment to Minorities
Later, as part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of District Vehari, a cake-cutting ceremony was held at the Catholic Church. The minister also reviewed the church's administrative arrangements and available public facilities, reaffirming the Punjab government's commitment to addressing the needs of minority communities and strengthening religious harmony through inclusive governance.
AC Vehari Visits Land Record Centre
Assistant Commissioner Vehari, Anam Akram, paid a detailed visit to the Land Record Centre, where she reviewed the issuance of Green Property Certificates, services related to Wanda records, and facilities being provided to the public. During the visit, concerned officials briefed the Assistant Commissioner that Service Centre Officials (SCOs) are expediting the preparation of the Single Owner Wanda lists to further streamline and improve the land record management system.
Green Property Certificates Initiative
Anam Akram directed all SCOs to encourage as many citizens as possible to apply for Green Property Certificates so that the benefits of the modern and secure land record system could reach the public. She stated that the Green Property Certificate is an important initiative of the Punjab Government aimed at making the property sale and purchase process more transparent, secure, and efficient. She added that the system would help prevent forgery and fraud, ensure legal verification of property ownership, and safeguard the rights of citizens.
The Assistant Commissioner also instructed the Land Record Centre staff to provide timely, transparent, and courteous services to visitors, emphasizing that efficient public service delivery would strengthen public confidence and ensure that the benefits of the government's reforms reached the common people.
