BAHAWALNAGAR - On Wednesday, Bahawalnagar Police conducted a flag march across the city as part of efforts to ensure the peaceful observance of Muharram-ul-Haram and maintain law and order. According to a police spokesperson, the flag march was organized under the directions of the District Police Officer (DPO) Bahawalnagar to guarantee foolproof security arrangements during the holy month and further strengthen the public's sense of safety and confidence.
High Alert for Muharram Security
Police in Bahawalnagar have been placed on high alert throughout the district for Muharram security. The flag march was organized to protect the lives and property of citizens and maintain an atmosphere of peace and order. The central flag march was led by DPO Muhammad Imran and Deputy Commissioner Zulfiqar Ahmed themselves, while SDPOs in all relevant circles led the flag marches in their respective areas.
Participation of Multiple Agencies
Punjab Police Elite Force, District Administration, and Punjab Rangers, as well as Rescue 1122, WAPDA, and PERA force and vehicles, also participated in the flag marches. DPO Muhammad Imran stated that foolproof security will be provided to all processions and gatherings held across the district during Muharram-ul-Haram. He emphasized that the main purpose of the flag marches is to convey to the public that the police, along with other law enforcement agencies, are fully prepared to handle any situation. He also directed enhanced coordination between the public and the police.
In a related development, Lahore police have unveiled a comprehensive security plan for 458 processions during Muharram.
