Court Rejects Police Remand for 10 in Pornography Case

RAWALPINDI: Judicial Magistrate Jahanzaib Aman has rejected a police request for physical remand of 10 accused, including Chinese, Pakistani and foreign nationals, arrested in a case involving the alleged production of live pornographic videos in the Rawat police station area.

The court sent all seven women and three men to Adiala Jail on judicial remand. The accused have also filed bail applications, which the court admitted for hearing. Notices have been issued to the prosecution, while the SHO of Rawat police station has been directed to produce the complete case record.

Rejecting the police request for physical remand, the court observed that the alleged videos, cameras and camera stands had already been recovered from the accused and that there was no justification for further physical custody. The court ordered that all accused be produced again on June 30.

A large number of citizens were also present outside the courtroom. Two days earlier, police conducted a raid on a house in the Rawat area and arrested seven women and three men in an allegedly naked state.
