Vehari - Deputy Commissioner Vehari Khalid Javed Goraya chaired a series of important meetings and events aimed at promoting rural development, strengthening social harmony, and improving educational outcomes across the district.

Review of Sahulat Bazar and Model Village Projects

Presiding over a review meeting on the Sahulat Bazar On-The-Go and Model Village projects, the Deputy Commissioner directed officials to accelerate work on the Model Village initiative being implemented under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. He said the project would enhance living standards in rural areas through improved infrastructure, including water supply schemes, drainage systems, wastewater treatment facilities, children's parks, paved streets, and streetlights. He also informed participants that new Sahulat Bazar On-The-Go facilities had been approved for Vehari and Mailsi.

33rd Annual Peace Seminar

Later, addressing the 33rd Annual Peace Seminar organized by the Milli Yakjehti Council at Municipal Committee Hall, Khalid Javed Goraya and MPA Mian Saqib Khurshid emphasized the importance of interfaith harmony, unity among different schools of thought, and maintaining peace during Muharram-ul-Haram. The speakers urged citizens to reject unverified social media content and work collectively for lasting peace and stability.

Ilm Packet Project Workshop

The Deputy Commissioner also attended a stakeholder engagement workshop held under the Ilm Packet Project at Gymkhana Vehari. Speaking on the occasion, he appreciated the contributions of the British Council, FCDO and NRSP in improving educational standards, increasing school enrolment, and enhancing teaching practices in the district. Participants reviewed the project's achievements and stressed the need to sustain educational reforms for future generations.

Senior administrative officers, education officials, project representatives and community stakeholders attended the events.
