Repaired Vessel Back in Action
The Kang Kon is the same naval vessel that tipped over during its launch ceremony last year but was subsequently repaired. The tests occurred on Friday, the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported, just under two weeks after another 5,000-tonne destroyer, the Choe Hyon, entered military service.
During the commissioning ceremony for the Choe Hyon, Kim vowed to equip his navy with nuclear weapons and to develop new 10,000-tonne warships, signaling a significant expansion of North Korea's naval capabilities.

The successful test of the Kang Kon, despite its earlier mishap, demonstrates North Korea's ability to recover from setbacks and continue its military modernization.
