SUKKUR - Sukkur division Commissioner Abid Saleem Qureshi has imposed a 90-day prohibition on bathing and swimming in rivers, canals, and water channels across the division. The ban, effective immediately, was enforced under Section 144 following directives from the Sindh Home Department.

Ban Enforced in Three Districts

The restriction applies to Sukkur, Khairpur, and Ghotki districts. A formal notification has been issued, instructing all station house officers (SHOs) to ensure strict compliance. Violators will face legal action under Section 144 and Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Public Safety Measures

The district administration has urged the public to avoid bathing in rivers, canals, and water channels for their own safety and that of their children. Citizens are requested to cooperate with authorities to prevent untoward incidents and loss of life.
