Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police conducted grand search and combing operations across the federal capital, checking 380 individuals and shifting 19 suspicious persons, including one Afghan national, to police stations for further verification. An official confirmed on Tuesday that the large-scale operations were initiated on the directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi to bolster security and maintain law and order throughout the city.
Operations in Multiple Areas
The official stated that search operations were carried out in the jurisdictions of Sabzi Mandi, Karachi Company, Shahzad Town, Industrial Area, and Sumbal police stations, under the supervision of respective zonal Superintendents of Police (SPs). Lady police officials also participated in the operations, the official added.
Details of Checks and Seizures
During the search operations, police inspected 185 households, 22 hotels, and 90 shops. Additionally, 162 motorcycles and 63 vehicles were examined. Nineteen suspicious individuals, including one Afghan national, and 27 motorcycles were moved to relevant police stations for further verification.
Enhanced Security Measures
According to the official, special checking points were established at entry and exit routes of the city to ensure effective monitoring and security screening. All patrolling units and special squads remained active, continuing patrols in various areas of the capital.
