LARKANA - Four members of a family were killed and two others, including a three-year-old girl, were injured after armed assailants allegedly opened fire on a house in Sindh Green Colony, within the jurisdiction of Mahota police station near Larkana, on Monday.
Attack Details
According to a police spokesperson, the attack was reportedly linked to a longstanding feud between two groups of the Mugheri tribe. Armed men allegedly stormed the residence late at night and indiscriminately fired at family members who were asleep.
The deceased were identified as 55-year-old Zarina Khatoon Mugheri, her son Zameer Mugheri, 36, Roshan Mugheri, 28, and Saima Mugheri. All four died at the scene. The injured, identified as Bundah Ali and three-year-old Kajli Mugheri, sustained serious wounds and were shifted to the Trauma Centre at Larkana Hospital for medical treatment.
Police reached the scene after receiving information about the incident, collected evidence, and transferred the bodies and injured to the hospital.
Allegations and Investigation
Family members of the victims alleged that the attack was carried out by Ghulam Nabi Mugheri and his armed associates over an old enmity. They claimed the assailants fled after killing four relatives and injuring two others, including a minor child.
Describing the incident as a brutal act of violence, the heirs of the deceased appealed to senior police officials, including the DIG Larkana Range and SSP Larkana, to ensure the arrest of those responsible and provide justice to the victims’ family.
Mahota Police said the incident appeared to be the result of a longstanding tribal dispute. Officials confirmed that efforts were underway to apprehend the suspects and that raids were being conducted in different areas.
On the other hand, it is being reported that two years ago, Asghar Ali Mugheri of the same tribe was killed, a case for which was registered against the deceased’s party. Since then, tensions have persisted between the two groups, resulting in this incident late last night.
