Sindh Cabinet Clears Rs112b Package for Karachi Projects

The Sindh cabinet has given the green light to a substantial Rs112 billion development package aimed at funding 11 mega projects in Karachi. These projects are set to address critical infrastructure needs in the city, focusing on water supply, road networks, and drainage systems.

Key Projects Approved

Among the approved initiatives are the construction of a new water supply line from the Indus River to Karachi, the expansion of the city's road network, and the upgrading of stormwater drainage systems. The package also includes funds for the development of a new solid waste management facility and the rehabilitation of existing sewage treatment plants.

Water Supply Enhancement

A major component of the package is the allocation of funds for a 120-kilometer water supply line from the Indus River to Karachi, which is expected to provide an additional 260 million gallons of water per day to the city.
