The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) President Syed Mohsen Gilani has announced cash rewards for the national football team, coaching staff, and officials after Pakistan secured a place in an international tournament final for the first time in 64 years. The announcement came following Pakistan’s impressive 2-0 victory over Afghanistan in the Diamond Jubilee International Football Tournament in the Maldives. This result propelled the Green Shirts into the final and marked one of the most significant achievements in the country’s football history.
Under the guidance of head coach Nolberto Solano, Pakistan produced a disciplined and commanding performance to overcome Afghanistan and end a six-decade wait for an appearance in the final of an international football tournament. The achievement is Pakistan’s first since reaching the final of the Merdeka Tournament in 1962.
