LRCA Sets Jan 12 Start for U-17 & U-15 Cricket Amid Lahore Fog
Lahore Age-Group Cricket Tournaments to Start Jan 12

In a significant move for youth cricket development, the Lahore Region Cricket Association (LRCA) has officially scheduled its upcoming age-group tournaments to begin in mid-January. The decision was finalized during a comprehensive review meeting held at the Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) Headquarters.

High-Level Meeting Chaired by LRCA President

The preparatory session was chaired by LRCA President Khawaja Nadeem Ahmed. The meeting saw participation from a wide array of key cricket administrators and coaches from across the region, ensuring all zones were represented in the planning process.

Notable attendees included West Zone President Sardar Naushad Ahmed, North Zone President Muhammad Ijaz Butt, and East Zone President Bilal Muqit. The region's coaching expertise was present in the form of head coaches Aijaz Cheema and Ashraf Ali, alongside district coaches Irfan Fazal, Umar Javed, Asif Ashfaq, and Kashif Siddique. LRCA Academy Director Malik Imran Bacha and Manager Cricket Operations Abid Hussain were also central figures in the discussions.

Tournament Schedule Adjusted for Weather

The core agenda focused on age-group cricket and the Senior Challenge Cup. After detailed deliberations, the participants gave their formal approval to the schedule for the Kaizen Paint Under-17 and Under-15 tournaments.

Taking into account the prevailing severe fog and cold weather conditions in Lahore and surrounding areas, a pragmatic decision was made. It was unanimously agreed that both the U-17 and U-15 tournaments will now commence from January 12, allowing for safer and more playable conditions for the young athletes.

All Preparations Declared Complete

Briefing the assembly, LRCA Academy Director Imran Bacha provided a positive update on the state of readiness. He assured all members that every necessary arrangement for the successful conduct of the tournaments has been completed.

Imran Bacha confirmed that the team selections have been finalized. Furthermore, he stated that all logistical aspects, including the identification of venues, distribution of kits and uniforms, and catering arrangements, are fully in place. This comprehensive preparation underscores the LRCA's commitment to providing a structured and professional platform for age-group cricket in the region.

The meeting concluded with a resolve to ensure the tournaments serve as a effective talent pipeline, nurturing the next generation of cricketers from Lahore.
