2360 KG Poppy Husks Seized, Trafficker Arrested in Faisalabad

Jhang Bazaar Police in Faisalabad arrested an alleged inter-provincial drug trafficker and recovered 2360 kilograms of Bhuki (poppy husk) during a successful raid, according to a police report. Sub-Inspector Muhammad Muzammal, posted at Jhang Bazaar Police Station, acted on a tip-off and raided a haveli in Babuwala, where he recovered the large consignment of narcotics and arrested the suspect on the spot.

Suspect and Confession

The accused was identified as Zafar Ali, son of Bashir Ahmad, a resident of Chak 251-RB King Khurd. Police said he is allegedly a member of an inter-provincial drug trafficking network. According to the FIR, during interrogation the suspect confessed that the large consignment of narcotics had been smuggled from Peshawar and was intended for distribution in Faisalabad. He also admitted that he had been involved in the illegal drug trade for a long time.

Legal Proceedings

Police have registered a case against the accused and launched further legal proceedings. The scope of the investigation has been expanded, and officials expect more significant disclosures during the ongoing investigation.

Speaking on the occasion, City Police Officer Tanveer Hussain said that an indiscriminate and uncompromising crackdown against drug traffickers would continue to protect the future of the nation’s youth. The CPO appreciated the successful operation and commended SHO Muhammad Afzal and SI Muhammad Muzammal of Jhang Bazaar Police Station for their performance. He directed them to continue performing their duties with the same professionalism, dedication, and commitment.
