The District Education Authority (DEA) has initiated a citywide operation against unregistered educational institutions in Lahore, issuing notices to 744 schools operating without official registration. The authority has directed the administrations of these identified schools to submit their replies within three days.
Legal Consequences for Non-Compliance
Failure to respond or comply with registration requirements will result in legal proceedings under the relevant laws. The DEA warned that schools found operating without registration could face financial penalties ranging from Rs300,000 to Rs4 million, in addition to other legal measures prescribed under the applicable regulations.
Background and Scope of the Operation
This initiative is part of the authority's broader efforts to ensure that all educational institutions meet regulatory requirements and operate in accordance with established education standards. The crackdown aims to bring unregistered schools into the formal system, ensuring they adhere to safety, curriculum, and quality benchmarks.
The DEA has emphasized that the three-day deadline is strict, and schools that fail to respond will face immediate legal action. The authority is also coordinating with other government departments to verify the status of these institutions.
