CM Bugti Addresses Tribal Jirga in Awaran
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Wednesday declared that the government would deal with terrorists with an "iron hand," emphasizing that the state, the people, and security forces are united in their efforts to ensure lasting peace and development in the province. Addressing a tribal jirga in Awaran, the chief minister said peace in Balochistan is a shared responsibility of the government, the public, and security forces, adding that sustainable stability can only be achieved through close coordination among all stakeholders.
High-Profile Attendees at the Jirga
The jirga was attended by Balochistan Governor Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, Balochistan Corps Commander Lt Gen Rahat Naseem Ahmed Khan, MPA Khair Jan Baloch, tribal elders, political and social leaders, women, students, and local residents. Bugti praised the people of Awaran for supporting peace and development and paid tribute to the sacrifices made by civilians and security personnel in the fight against terrorism.
Development Projects Underway
He said the provincial government is implementing development projects in Awaran and across the Makran division, with a focus on improving basic infrastructure, expanding public services, and creating employment opportunities in underdeveloped areas. The chief minister said the government, in collaboration with security forces, is working to improve living standards by ensuring the provision of essential facilities and accelerating welfare initiatives.
BSDI Programme Brings Improvements
Referring to ongoing development efforts under the BSDI programme, Bugti said the projects have already brought significant improvements to the region and that the government is considering additional initiatives to address public issues on a permanent basis and promote long-term prosperity. He said the people of Awaran are peace-loving, aware, and committed to progress, adding that no one will be allowed to disrupt the area's peaceful environment.
Iron Hand Against Disruptors
"Action against elements involved in disturbing peace will continue without discrimination and with an iron hand," he said. Participants of the jirga, including MPA Khair Jan Baloch and tribal elders, appreciated the efforts of the provincial government and security forces in maintaining law and order, protecting citizens, and implementing development projects.
