Former Sindh government secretary Ali Hasan Brohi was unanimously elected President of the Sindh Basketball Association (SBBA), while Dleep Singh of Mirpur Khas was chosen as Secretary during the association’s elections held in Karachi on Monday under the supervision of the Pakistan Basketball Federation (PBBF). The election meeting was chaired by PBBF Secretary General Khalid Bashir and attended by representatives of all six divisional basketball associations of Sindh. Sindh Olympic Association representative Asghar Baloch also witnessed the electoral process.

Newly Elected Office-Bearers

Alongside Brohi and Dleep, the newly elected office-bearers include Yaqoob Qadry (Karachi) as Senior Vice President, Arshad Saeed (Sukkur) as Vice President, Raja Sheeraz (Hyderabad) as Treasurer, while Sahir Hussain (Larkana) and Shabbir Chandio (Benazirabad) were elected executive members.

President's Commitment to Grassroots Development

Addressing the gathering after his unanimous election, Brohi pledged to make the promotion and development of basketball across Sindh the association’s foremost priority. He said special emphasis would be placed on expanding opportunities for boys and girls in the province’s interior districts to strengthen the sport at the grassroots level.

Secretary's Vision for Revitalisation

Newly elected Secretary Dleep Singh thanked the association’s members for their confidence and support, promising to work closely with the Executive Committee to introduce a comprehensive development programme aimed at revitalising basketball across the province.

The newly elected leadership reaffirmed its commitment to broadening participation, strengthening the domestic basketball structure and creating greater competitive opportunities for young players, expressing confidence that collective efforts would contribute significantly to the growth and long-term development of basketball throughout Sindh.
