At least five members of a family were killed after a boat capsized in Saifullah Lake, a popular tourist destination in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's Swat district. Officials confirmed that three other family members remain missing.
Details of the Incident
According to officials, eight members of the same family, along with the boatman, were on board the vessel when it suddenly overturned. As a result, all nine occupants fell into the lake. The boatman was rescued in critical condition and shifted to a hospital, while the bodies of five tourists were recovered from the Mahodand area.
Search and Rescue Operations
Rescue teams have been deployed to search for the three missing individuals. The cause of the capsize is under investigation. Local authorities have urged tourists to exercise caution while boating in the lake.
