Gulberg Town Presents Rs3.61 Billion Annual Budget

KARACHI: Town Chairman Nusratullah presented Gulberg Town's Rs3.61 billion budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 during a council meeting on Monday, featuring a development outlay of Rs1.53 billion. He declared the upcoming year as "the year of development" and promised record road construction projects.

Key Focus Areas and Allocations

Nusratullah outlined that the budget prioritizes education, health, women, and youth initiatives. A significant allocation of Rs50 million has been made for the Education Card, with a substantial increase to extend benefits to more students. The town will also launch a new gym with separate timings for men and women to promote fitness and inclusivity.

Mobility and Infrastructure Projects

Under the Town Mobility Services, shuttle services and bicycle stations will be introduced on link roads to improve local transportation. All government schools in the area will undergo restoration, and an artificial intelligence (AI) faculty will be established. The Dr A Q Khan Tech Space is set to be inaugurated in the coming days, aiming to foster technological innovation.

Health and Recreation Upgrades

A new health unit in Naseerabad, modeled on the Samanabad Primary Health Unit, will be established to enhance healthcare access. Parks, playgrounds, and libraries across Gulberg Town will also be upgraded as part of the development agenda.
