Karachi Police Arrest 738 Suspects in Week-Long Crackdown

Karachi Police arrested more than 738 suspects during a week-long crackdown on crime across the East, West and South zones of the city, following directives issued by Additional Inspector General of Police Karachi Azad Khan.

Encounters and Arrests

According to a police spokesman on Monday, district police engaged armed robbers in 21 encounters during the past week. Three suspects were killed in exchanges of fire, while 22 injured robbers and 12 other suspects were arrested.

Police recovered 28 illegal weapons of various types and 10 motorcycles from the arrested suspects involved in the encounters.

Narcotics Seizure

As part of the ongoing campaign against narcotics, police also seized 17.681 kg of hashish and 2.059 kg of ice (crystal meth), collectively worth millions of rupees, during operations conducted in different parts of the city.

Weapons and Stolen Vehicles Recovered

More than 100 illegal weapons along with ammunition, allegedly used in robberies and other criminal activities, were recovered from the arrested suspects. During separate operations, Karachi Police also recovered 32 snatched and stolen motorcycles and one stolen vehicle from various areas of the city.
