KP Agriculture Adviser Inaugurates New Academic Block at UAP

Adviser to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Agriculture, Mian Muhammad Umar Kakakhel, visited the University of Agriculture Peshawar on Sunday and inaugurated the newly-constructed academic block for the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences.

New Facility Cost and Features

During the visit, officials informed the adviser that the academic block had been completed at a cost of Rs457.014 million. The new facility includes modern classrooms, laboratories, computer labs, a student facilitation centre, a conference room, separate common rooms for male and female students, a library, a prayer hall, staff rooms and administrative offices.

Adviser's Address to Students

Addressing the students, Mian Muhammad Umar said that students are the most valuable asset of any educational institution. He encouraged them to actively participate in positive, creative and constructive activities to enhance their leadership, communication, and organizational skills. He said the provincial government is committed to improving student facilities by introducing scholarships, interest-free loans, paid internships and startup opportunities through business incubation centres. He added that hostel solarization, renovation and internet facilities would also be further improved.

Support for Teachers and University Initiatives

The agriculture adviser further said that teachers hold a highly respected position in society and assured that maximum facilities would be provided to support the teaching community. Earlier, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Sarzamin Khan welcomed the adviser and briefed him on the university’s academic, research, and development initiatives. He said the university’s graduates are making significant contributions to the agriculture, livestock and other sectors at the provincial, national and international levels.
