Lahore Divisional Commissioner Marryam Khan on Tuesday established a committee composed of additional commissioners from Lahore Division and assistant commissioners (Revenue) from all four districts to accelerate the disposal of Khewat partition cases and enhance revenue administration throughout the division.
Meeting on Revenue Affairs
Chairing a meeting on Khewat partition and revenue matters, the commissioner assigned district-specific targets for clearing pending Khewat partition cases. She instructed all assistant commissioners (Revenue) to obtain daily performance reports from revenue officers to monitor progress closely.
Commissioner Khan announced that the progress of all districts would be reviewed at the divisional level every two days to ensure the timely achievement of the assigned targets. She emphasized that there would be zero tolerance for negligence or delays in implementing directives from the Punjab government and the Board of Revenue Punjab regarding revenue-related issues.
Digitisation Initiatives
The commissioner noted that the provincial government is introducing modern facilities to improve public access to revenue services. She described the revenue digitisation programme as a revolutionary initiative providing substantial relief to citizens. During the meeting, Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA) Director General Ikram-ul-Haq briefed participants on the progress of revenue data digitisation and other ongoing reforms.
Attendees and Scope
The meeting was attended by Lahore Deputy Commissioner Ali Ijaz, along with the deputy commissioners of Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, and Kasur. Additional commissioners and assistant commissioners (Revenue) from all four districts of Lahore Division were also present.
In a separate development, Commissioner Marryam Khan reported that over 800 commercial buildings have been surveyed for fire safety audits, highlighting ongoing efforts to improve safety standards in the division.
