District Police Officer (DPO) Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah of Muzaffargarh announced the successful arrest of a criminal gang that had been targeting elderly women, snatching their gold earrings and cash. The police also recovered the stolen valuables, including gold earrings and cash worth hundreds of thousands of rupees, and returned them to the victims.
Details of the Crimes
According to police officials, separate cases were registered at City Police Station and Civil Lines Police Station after a group comprising women accomplices and a male suspect allegedly targeted elderly women by offering them rides in rickshaws. The suspects reportedly rendered the victims unconscious using an intoxicating substance before stealing their gold earrings, handbags, and cash.
Taking personal notice of the incidents, DPO Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah closely supervised the investigation in coordination with the Safe City Muzaffargarh team. Special police teams were formed under the supervision of SDPO City Muhammad Zafar Wattoo and SHOs Waseem Khan Gopang (City Police Station), Noor Khan Baloch (Civil Lines Police Station), and the SHO of Sadr Police Station.
Investigation and Arrest
With technical assistance from the Safe City Multan team, continuous surveillance, extensive search operations, and coordinated checkpoints established across Muzaffargarh and Multan, the police successfully traced and arrested the suspects. The operation also resulted in the complete recovery of the stolen property.
During a ceremony held at the District Police Office, DPO Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah personally handed over the recovered gold earrings and cash to the affected elderly women. The victims expressed their gratitude by presenting flower garlands to the DPO and offered prayers for his well-being while appreciating the efforts of the police.

Commending the outstanding performance of the investigating teams, DPO Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah praised the officers for their tireless efforts, successful arrest of the suspects, and 100 percent recovery of the stolen property. He also awarded the police personnel commendation certificates and cash rewards in recognition of their exemplary performance.
